
College of Engineering, Munnar.
The College
of Engineering, Munnar was crystallized in form and substance
in the year 2000. The College is dedicated entirely to the
growth and development of professional education, industry,
business and social amelioration. The college is approved
by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New
Delhi and is a recognized institute of the Cochin University
of Science and Technology, Kochi, which offers four year B.Tech.
programmes. The college is situated in the heart of Munnar
town; at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha,
Nallathanni and Kundala. Presently the college offers B.Tech.
in the following branches:

- Computer Science & Engineering
- Information Technology

The administration
of the College is vested in the Governing Body of the
Centre for Continuing Education Kerala headed by the Hon’ble
Minister for Education as its Ex-officio Chairman.
The College
is now headed by the Principal, Dr. M.P. Chandrasekharan (formerly
Director, National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode).
The college
is established in 26 acres of own land in the Kannan Devan
Hills, just one Kilometre off Munnar town. The college
has already developed excellent infrastructure for the conduct
of various courses. The foundation stone for theconstruction
of its own hostel buildings of the College for both boys and
girls were laid on April 23, 2005 by the Hon'ble Minister
for Education, Sri. E.T. Muhammed Basheer.
The
State Government has accorded santion for starting new courses
on Master of Business Applications and Bachelor of Hotel Management
and Catering Technology for the College.

I: Grammar Skills) written by Dr. N. Gangadharan Nair, Academic
Associate, CCEK, formerly Reader, Dept. of English, University
College, Thiruvananthapuram.
The Talent
Development Course for High School students was officially
inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister for Education, Sri.
E. T Muhammed Basheer on April 12, 2005 at the spacious
new premises of the Centre. The course offers three year
intensive as well as comprehensive coaching on language
skills (reading, speaking, writing and listening), general
knowledge, personality development and human values. More
than 120 brilliant young minds have already got themselves
enrolled for the prestigious course of the Centre.
