Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala, established at Vallimon, Kundara in Kollam District by the Govt. of Kerala under the aegis of “Centre for Continuing Education Kerala” in technical collaboration with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) invites applications for faculty members of high calibre and potential, willing to take on the challenge of building this institute into a Centre for Excellence. The openings are for Faculty/ Sr. faculty positions in the following specialisations at IFT, Kollam, Kerala.

(Design)

 1.) U.G/PG Diploma in Fashion/ Design from NIFT/NID or equivalent qualification from a recognised National/ International University.

OR

M.Des, IDC from IITs, MFA/M.Sc (Clothing and Textiles), B.Arch/M.Arch (or) equivalent qualifications from Universities/ Institute of National/ International repute.

2). Degree/Diploma in the relevant areas of Product Design/ Life Style products/ Footwear Design & Leather Product/ Gemology/ Journalism/ Communication/ Visual merchandising/ Graphic Design from a recognised Institute or University. Preference will be given to candidates possessing Ph.D degree in relevant areas/ disciplines or Recognised published/ Professional work which can be treated equivalent to Ph.D.

3). Relevant experience in Teaching/ Research/ Industry with above qualifications as under

  • 7 years for Sr. Faculty
  • 3 years for Faculty

Faculty/ Sr. Faculty
(Technology)

1). a). Degree/ Diploma from NIFT/NID in Design/ Technology with additional qualifications of international repute in the software applications in relevant competency such as CAD/CAM with relevant experience in teaching/ research/ industry.

b). B.Tech/ M.Tech, B.F.Tech/ M.F.Tech in Textiles/ Computers/ Electronics/ Industrial Production/ Mechanical/ Apparel Production/ Apparel Management or equivalent qualification from a recognised National/ International Institute/ University.

c). MCA/ MCM from an Institute of International repute (or) equivalent qualification from an International University.

2). Desirable Ph.D degree in the relevant area/ disciplines.
3). Relevant experience in Teaching/ Research/ Industry with above qualifications as under

  • 7 years for Sr. Faculty
  • 3 years for Faculty

Age limit

Senior Faculty : up to 45 years
Faculty            : up to 35 years
(Maximum age limit relaxable up to 5 years for deserving candidates possessing higher educational qualifications/ experience)

(Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per State Govt. norms)

Terms of appointment

Three years contract which can be extended further

Based on qualification and experience
